A Little Bling Goes a Long Way

Every now and then, I hear from people who attended my keynote presentations. My favorite email this month?

Laurie, we LOVED you Wednesday at our corporate event.  Everyone is still talking about you and your awesome lessons. Thank you!

Diane, Associate Manager

Kind words never get old, do they?

In appreciation for this glowing comment, I reach out to Diane and mailed her a small bottle of Bling bottled water, in reference to a featured part of my keynote speech. (I have this thing with bottled water, and Bling is the Louis Vuitton of bottled water!)

Well, it wasn’t long before I heard back from Diane. In response she said:

I got it, THANK YOU! I’m afraid to drink it…and I might never. It’s sitting on my desk and I show everyone and then tell them to go listen to Laurie and I see it every day as a reminder of your teachings. I’ve made my whole team watch the video of your presentation!

Not only is that one of the kindest things an attendee could ever share with me, but it’s exactly what I hoped would happened when I started sharing my message of The 10¢ Decision: How Small Change Pays Off Big.
